5k deal update: The end

I give up!  19th August was the day when I made the first cut of the deal. My investors took 145 USD after 1k games played, and I start playing for the next stage, 2k games.
I was a little bit dissapointed because deep down inside of me I was hoping they will force me to go up in limits. I understood the game at 1,5 KO 90 ppl and 2,5 USD 90 ppl and I wanted badly to move forward. 4,5 USD 180 ppl was my target.
Their investment was only 30 USD and 5-6 hours of coaching (4-5 situations every coaching session). The money for micros aren't a problem for me. I allways had bankroll to play micros. The issue here is I never grew in limits because I cashed out every winning I had.
So I decided yesterday to close this deal immediately.
I will continue my path to becoming shark without their support, playing MTT's every saturday and sunday and grinding cash NL 10 from monday till friday every week.
Since the last cut I played especially tournaments from the money won at freerolls (SilverStar VIP weekly 30k GTD).

5k deal update: Volume volume volume

Apparently in my last blog post I was mistaking about the number of games. I wrote 0,8k games, but I observed theese days I reached this number only this week.
My bad :)
In the last month I played rarely, but every time I did it i was looking to play as much as I can.
For example. Since 1st of August I played 210 games (we talking about slow SnG's with 15 mins blind level) with 65 USD profit.
It's kind of a bad result since I consider this games very easy.
I intend to reach 1k games next week and close the first part of the deal. We gonna split the profit and move on to the next phase, 2k games with 60/40 cuts in the favor of the backer.
We will see how things evolve. My goal is to play as soon as possible 4,5 USD 180 ppl SnG's and MTT's.

5k deal: First update

It's been quite a while since the moment I begin playing sit and go's on staking and coaching. According to SharkScope, after 841 games I have a small profit and an average ROI of 10,6%. That's very low because the limits I've played, 1,5 USD KO 90 ppl and 2,5 USD 90 ppl on PokerStars.eu, are incredible easy to beat. The field consists in recreational players and weak regulars.

New deal

It's been a while since my last blog post, but considering this blog is, in general, about my poker career, I have an explanation for this writing break.
Since march I've played occasionally MTT's, but without extraordinary results.

This week I managed to close a deal regarding both coaching and staking with a good stable, and i feel confident may game will improve.

The deal is for 5k games, Sit and Go's slow on PokerStars. I will start with those 1,5 USD 90 ppl KO and I hope to grew till I can play 4,5 USD 180 ppl.

In the mean time my statistics on SharkScope were reset and starting today the deal is ongoing.

I will keep the track of this challenge on this blog.

The days after a Micromillions boost

In the very first day of Micromillions 4 and I had two deep runs, which help me to boost my micro-bankroll.

This Micromillions series started incredibly well for me. In the first 3 events played I developed a solid game and I was able to make a deep run. If the Event #1 was a madness rebuy tournament, where I had a lot of bad situations and coolers, the other two events from Thursday were perfect.

I had a stack and time to play. In the event #3, 6-max NLHE, I finished 938 from more than 41k players, a good result rewarded with only 23,65 USD. But money wasn't that important. The morale boost gained after this tourney was the real prize.

In the same time I had Event #4, Zoom MTT, undergoing and there the things were all the time under control. At one moment I was even in Top 10 chip count, but finally I've ended up 92 and cashed in more than 100 USD.

Micromillions sidebet

I just found out about an interesting sidebet organized by Giovanni regarding Micromillions. Unfortunately it was too late for me to take part to this, but I'll keep a track of my results same time with my fellows ei8htyei8ht, mfcrocker, maedchen80, cardkaahleesi, hollbeans, Roar@me.

From WBCOOP to MicroMillions

WBCOOP is just finished and I have the opportunity to play another series on PokerStars, Micromillions.

I found this online poker festival perfectly created for my bankroll needs, and I'm very happy each time is scheduled. For this edition I'm planning to play as much events as I can. I allready have 2 tickets won at WBCOOP, which I can use for 5,5 USD tournaments.

Today I have two events included in my schedule: Event 1 - rebuy madness for 0,10 USD, Event 3 - 6-max 3,3 USD and Event 4 - 5,5 USD Zoom.

Good luck to all of you participating in this events!

WBCOOP Day 10: The last day and the last ticket

One more ticket grabed and this years WBCOOP ends en fanfare for me.

I've spend my sunday afternoon, yesterday, playing poker like I do since 2010 most of the time. This week I was concentrated on WBCOOP. I played few tables and I kept focus on two main tournaments Event 28 and Event 29. In the same time I tried and managed to qualify for the Sunday Storm twice from my favorite satelitte, 2,2 USD SnG 36 man, with 100% success ratio.

WBCOOP Day 9: A SCOOP ticket!

After nine horrible days I finally did it, and cashed in my first WBCOOP prize.

With just three tickets left I started The Event 25 hoping to change  the luck and make it ITM. The tournament proposed by PokerStars was a No Limit Holdem Deep Stack, the kind of game who permits a lot of manoeuvres and encourage the creative play.

Event #25. It's nice to have a 250 BB's stack. It's funny. The person who write that sentence (me) is a player who has most of the time has 10 - 20 BB's at disposal :)

WBCOOP Day 8: The last meters

Two more days to go till the end of WBCOOP 2013, and I have 3 more interesting events to play.

Yesterday it was a WBCOOP full day with plenty of action. I played two tournaments, a PLO 6-max and a NLH with antes from the first level.

Event #22. Omaha isn't my game though I enjoy playing every time I get the opportunity. Unfortunately (or fortunately  LOL) I get this chances only at big events, and only as freeroll, or invitational. This time was WBCOOP's time :).

About Omaha I know few things but I know them well. I know about starting hands and I read first chapters from the best (in my opinion) Pot Limit Omaha guide existing on the web.

WBCOOP Day 6 & 7: Poker training

Sometimes you need to take a break when you perform an activity day by day very intense results oriented. I felt that way about poker.

In the last two months my game wasn't great and my initial (january) plans are somehow were hampered because of this.

Last two days I spend time, usually allocated to play MTT's, reading the rest of the book Kill everyone and watching some episodes from EPT TV Show.

This kind of TV shows motivates me a lot. I don't know what resorts this thing moves inside of me, but it works. Every time I feel down I watch an EPT or a WSOP episode and I'm up and running LOL

I wait for this week-end to play and to enjoy the beautiful spring time.

Tonight I'll play both events 22 and 23, hoping to cash my first ticket. It will be great for morale.

WBCOOP Day 5: Time to put myself together

The WBCOOP schedule and the number of remaining tickets impose a short break from playing, and the opportunity to set my personal schedule for the following events.

I had a very busy day at work and when I manage to come home late registration from Event 13 was closed. Too bad.

I don't like PL 5-card draw, so I don't play Event 14 and Event 15 kick off too late for me.

So I will play in the next day following tournaments:

Event 22, 08.03, PLO [6-Max]
Event 23, 08.03, NLHE Big Antes
Event 25, 09.03, NLHE Deep-Stacks
Event 28, 10.03, HORSE
Event 29, 10.03, NLHE [6-Max]

WBCOOP Day 4: Bubble!

I was playing today two events from World Championship of Online Poker and the closest to the money was a bubble from the Stud Event.

Monday is a good day to start anything, but not the personal winning series at WBCOOP. No sir, I must wait for that. The field is easy and enjoyable, but I'm not playing my A game so far.

Sunday, March 3, 2013

WBCOOP Day 3: No cash so far

3 tickets used and no cash. That's the balance of WBCOOP 2013 for me so far, but I'm looking forward to this festival.

I played only No Limit Holdem Events, and I was the agressor every time. This attitude should be rewarded some day, this week I hope :)

WBCOOP Day 2: Resting

I take my time today to clear my mind a little bit. I spend dome time with my family and listen some music on Deezer.

After that I tried to catch up with some deals I neglected lately, ans spend 4 hours writing on some websites, but tonight I will play Chrome Freeroll on PokerStars, as Andre recommend.

WBCOOP scheduled today three events I didn't like so much: a Mixed Limit NLHE/PLO, a Shootout NLHE and in few hours a 8-Mix tournament. Hey, but how the latins used to say: De gustibus non est disputandum.

Tommorow  I will play Event 4 and 5 starting 17:00 EET, a 6-max and a regular NLH tournament.

Saturday morning

The spring is comming to Bucharest, I can tell that. I can smell it.
The air is fresh and some kind of energy flows everywhere.
It feels good to take a walk in one of the Parks around here.

WBCOOP Day 1

Today was the day. I used one of my ten WBCOOP tickets won with this blog post, and I guess I didn't do some performance with it.

I registered for the Event #1, a NLH tournament with a 10k chips starting stack and blind increasing every 10 minutes. That's a good structure, especially for non-turbo players.

I start playing from level 4, and I had only 100 BB for manoeuvre. I said only ... just kidding :) In fact I feel more comfortable with less than 20 BB, so I did some crazy things.

WBCOOP here I come

I just opened the PokerStars in order to planmy poker week-end and ... suprpise, surprise. I received 10 tickets to spend at World Championship of Online Poker. How nice :)

I was waiting for some announcing email, but obviously I was wrong.

I registered for the 1st event and I hop to make a deep run win a ticket. I'll keep you update about my performance during this poker festival.

Weeeek-end!!

I can hardly wait this week-end. After an exhausting  week I feel like spending some time for myself. Poker will be part of it, but not so much, as last month, for example. I will see what PokerStars can offer me.

I'm planning to write a little bit more, to read some books and watch my favorite TV Shows.

Of course, I will neglect my family :)

It’s nice to remember

Remembering a fabulous moment. I don’t see a better way to start a project than this one. The moment I want to blog here and now is not about the money. They come and fly right away (isn’t my case  but still …), and you don’t remember even you won something.

The importance of a big moment is the change of mind.

Last year I finished a PokerStars Micromillion Turbo Event in top three and I took home a four figures prize. It was awesome. The money was great, but the feeling I get was even greater. I managed to advance in the last three over a field consisting in more than five thousand players.

It was a though night. I stayed focus many hours, but as time goes by you want more to stay in the tournament. The 100th place isn’t enough. Perhaps at the start of the event you think how wonderful would be to reach the last 100, but when you’re there the things are changing. You want more.

Inspired

I thought is time to to go back my old blogger habits and get back to writing. This time I'll do it in english because I wanna go international :)

My inspiration was Andre. His challenge makes me be more careful about all the things I do in poker. I talk about playing, analyzing, marketing and so on.
This blog, along with my player profile page and Twitter account should help me maintain a journal of my activity, and provide a space for communication.

Let's get started.
